Privacy Policy

Summary

Metronome Online ("we") runs the site metronomo-online.com. We designed it to be private by default: the metronome runs entirely in your browser and we never ask you to create an account.

This policy explains what information is processed, why, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, get in touch.

Information we process

No account, no profile. We do not collect names, email addresses or passwords to use the metronome.

• Device preferences: BPM, time signature, sound and theme, stored in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device.
• Contact messages: if you use the form at /en/contact/, we receive the name, email, subject and message you send through our form provider (Web3Forms) so we can reply. We keep it only as long as it takes to answer you.
• Server logs: our hosting and CDN may record standard technical data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, date and time) for security and performance. Logs are kept briefly and are not used to identify you.

Local storage

We use localStorage to remember your theme (light or dark) and your metronome settings between visits. This is not a cookie, it is never sent to our servers, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings. No consent banner is needed because it is strictly required for the feature you asked for.

Cookies and similar technologies

We do not set advertising cookies ourselves. If we enable analytics or advertising in future we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. You can always control cookies from your browser.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics (for example Cloudflare Web Analytics, or Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation) to understand aggregate usage — such as which tempi people look up — without identifying individuals. Where analytics are used, you can turn them off through your browser's Do Not Track setting or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, where applicable.

Third-party services

• Google Fonts: loads the Inter typeface. Google may receive your IP address and user agent as part of the font request. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Web3Forms: processes contact form submissions and forwards them to our inbox. Their policy is at web3forms.com/privacy.
• Hosting / CDN: serves the site, caches assets and protects against abuse. It may process IP and request data as described under server logs.

How we use the information

To provide and improve the metronome, remember your preferences, reply to your messages, protect and monitor the service, and comply with the law. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

Device preferences stay until you clear them. Contact messages are kept only as long as it takes to resolve your request, then deleted or archived. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and diagnostics.

Your rights

Depending on where you are (GDPR in the EEA or UK, CCPA/CPRA in California, and similar laws elsewhere) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us. We respond within the time the law requires.

Children's privacy

Metronome Online is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information through our contact form, please contact us and we will remove it immediately.

International transfers

We are based in the EU and our providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post the new version here and change the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be called out on this page.
